A sizeable, considering the present day circumstances, crowd gathered along Evanston’s lake front to watch the Blue Angels as they flew over Chicagoland this midday, saluting health-care workers amid the COVID-19 crisis.
Those of us at Elliott Park watched as the jets flew Northbound over the lake, turn and return to the city. Unfortunately they were quite far from the shore, but, even so, it was a treat to see.
For the most part the “crowd” kept to the social distancing guides and wore masks of one type or another. Overall while not as thrilling as the Air Show, a few seconds of public excitement was a pleasant escape from our not so new norm.
