COVID-19 patients and ICU bed and ventilator use are declining at hospital systems serving Evanston.
COVID-19 Patients peaked around May 3 through May 5 at NorthShore University HealthSystem and a week or two earlier at AMITA Health Saint Francis Hospital Evanston.
COVID-19 patients at NorthShore University HealthSystem Glenbrook and Evanston Hospitals fell sharply during the past two weeks, from about 157 on May 8, to 99 on May 22. These figures are the mid-point of a range for a 48-hour period on these dates. Patients in ICU beds and on ventilators also declined. Use of ICU beds and ventilators remains well below total capacity.
COVID-19 patients at AMITA Health Saint Francis Hospital fell from 50 on May 8, to 43, yesterday, May 21. Patients in ICU beds were stable and patients on ventilators declined to 10 from 20 two weeks ago.
