Evanston community members are invited to join Mayor Stephen Hagerty, members of the Evanston Police Department, and other guests for an upcoming Q&A and discussion on the Police Budget.
The event is the latest in Mayor Hagerty’s “Q&A and Discussion Series on Policing in Evanston,” which provides community members with an opportunity to learn and ask questions about a variety of topics related to policing in Evanston, including Police Training, Use of Force Policy and Body Cameras, Complaint Process and more. These sessions, televised and streamed live online, will help inform the City Council’s discussion on policing in Evanston as they consider any appropriate changes to better serve the community.
The next discussion in the series, which will focus on the Police Budget, will take place on Monday, July 13, at noon. Residents can watch the discussion live on Channel 16 and on the City’s Facebook page. Questions may be submitted live during the broadcast or in advance using the City’s Q&A form, or by commenting on the Facebook Live broadcast.
For those unable to participate, a recording of the broadcast will be available and shared through the City’s communications channels later in the week.
The first discussion in the series took place on July 6 and focused on Police Training. Community members can watch a recording of that discussion on the City’s YouTube channel.
