The line of cars waiting to participate in Evanston Recycles stretched from Dodge Avenue to McCormick and south of McCormick for quite a distance.

A scaled-down “Evanston Recycles” event took place this morning, July 11, in the Evanston Township High School parking lot. There were only two offerings – electronic recycling and document shredding.

Participants began lining up nearly an hour before the scheduled 9 a.m. opening, and cars were admitted beginning at 8:30 a.m.  By about 9:15 a.m., the line of cars extended west from Dodge Avenue to McCormick Boulevard and then south for several blocks.

Evanston Recycles was supported by the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County.
