As seasonal lifeguard and beach staff return to school, the City of Evanston has announced that daily beach admission passes will no longer be available for purchase effective Wednesday, August 12, 2020.

Each year, the City of Evanston adjusts beach operations at the end of the season to ensure that all locations have adequate staff to maintain public safety, manage admissions, and support daily operations. This year, with approximately 45% of gate attendants and 30% of lifeguards returning to school on August 17, the City will discontinue the sale of daily admission passes to ensure that limited staff resources are available to manage beach operations.

Season beach tokens are still available for purchase at a discounted rate of $18 for Evanston residents, and $30 for non-residents. In addition, those who have previously purchased daily beach admission passes for use at a later date will be able to use them.

Beaches remain open for normal hours, 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., through Monday, September 7. Capacity will continue to be limited to allow for physical distancing. Free beach days for Evanston residents will take place at Clark Street Beach on Mondays, August 17, 24 and 31.
