Mega best seller Robin Preiss Glasser, co-creator and illustrator of the beloved children’s book, Fancy Nancy, will read from her new book, Escape Goat (written with Ann Patchett). The Evanston Public Library event will be presented virtually on Wednesday, September 30, at 5 pm via Zoom.

The Library’s event is the first opportunity audiences will have to view the book after its release this month. Glasser will read from the book and answer questions about her work, including Fancy Nancy.

Escape Goat, tells a hilarious and heartwarming story about a goat who keeps getting all the blame, but ultimately teaches one family about the importance of honesty and owning up to your mistakes. Escape Goat is Glasser’s second book with well-known adult author Ann Patchett. Their first, Lambslide, was published in 2019.

Robin Preiss Glasser has had two successful careers, the first as a ballet dancer and the second as a best-selling children’s book illustrator. With over 100 books to her credit, and winner of the Children’s Book Council’s “Illustrator of the Year Award” in 2013, Robin is best known as the illustrator of Fancy Nancy, the “more is always better” heroine of the New York Times best-selling series with author Jane O’Connor. Disney Junior broadcasts the Fancy Nancy show, and the character appears in picture book, beginning reader, and chapter book versions.

Autographed bookplates signed by Patchett and Glasser will be available on a first come/first served basis at the Robert Crown Library Branch.
