We want to acknowledge the senseless killing of Breonna Taylor by police and our sadness and frustration that no one will be held accountable for her death.
We are outraged.
We are heartbroken.
We are tired. And we are tired, frankly, of writing these types of statements.
Yet, we continue to believe and affirm that Black Lives Matter.
We will continue to fight against racial injustice.
We will continue to play our role in supporting and participating in efforts to make Evanston more equitable.
We will continue to support our Scholars, as they organize protests and rallies, demand policy changes, and work towards dismantling systemic racism.
We will continue to stand up and speak out because of our Scholars, for our Scholars, and with our Scholars.
