Second Baptist Church, in full partnership with the Knight Family and Stone Family Trust Foundations, will present its annual Christmas Giveaway beginning at 11 a.m. on Dec. 19 at the Morton Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave.
“The challenges of 2020 have created an increased need which is why the generous support of the Knight Family and Stone Family Trust Foundations have enabled us to distribute well over $35,000 in food, coats, and gifts to our community,” said Reverend Eddie Journey, Executive Minister.
More than 150 families have been identified through community partnerships with District 65 and other key Evanston organizations and schools. Nevertheless, unregistered families may receive a free turkey, while supplies last, by arriving at the Civic Center at 9:00am.
Second Baptist Church of Evanston, Illinois hails as the oldest African American Baptist Church on the North Shore. For more than 25 years, Second Baptist has hosted this charity event for local families in need of holiday support.
