Welcome to the new Evanston RoundTable website – we’re glad you’re here.
If you read us on a smart phone or tablet device, we want to let you know about an important change that will affect how you access our content.
The new site includes a very mobile-friendly interface that is accessed directly from whatever browser you use on your smartphone or tablet. However, the app you may have been using with either Apple or Android devices no longer is being updated.
Now, you can access the RoundTable from your favorite browser on your phone or tablet. The website will adjust automatically the way it displays content into a highly readable format, no matter what device you are using.
The most convenient way to do this is by adding a a link to the RoundTable to your device’s home screen – it will look, feel and function just like an app.
Here are instructions for adding the RoundTable to your device’s home screen.
- This process is best done using the Safari or Firefox browsers. Instructions for bookmarking the RT also are available for Chrome, but this browser only allow you to bookmark the RT, not add us to your home screen.
- Navigate to evanstonroundtable.com, and then press the “share” button. It looks like this:
- Scroll down a bit and look for an option labeled “add to home screen.” This will add an icon for the RoundTable to your device screen that you can access – just as you would an app. The new website is built to display content in a highly readable format that we think you’ll enjoy.
A shortcut to the RoundTable also can be added to your Android device home screen. This involves a couple more steps than the process for iPhone; the steps are described clearly, with illustration, here.
