A rebranded site now provides incoming Kindergarten parents, families, and caregivers with an easy, streamlined approach to Kindergarten student registration.

Kindergarten registration for District 65 students is now open. The District 65’s Student Registration department has launched its newly rebranded kindergarten registration website, allowing the registration process to become more streamlined and easier for families to navigate.  The site, which has been under development since the fall, now allows parents, caregivers, and families to easily access important registration documents online while registering their child. The newly launched site not only serves as a one-stop-shop for registration, but also an information hub for kindergartners and their families entering into the district. Families can register their incoming kindergarten student by visiting www.district65.net/registration and navigating to the “Kindergarten Registration” tab.

“I am super excited for the rollout of our newly designed registration website,” said Sarita Smith, Manager of Student Assignments for District 65. “We know this is an exciting time for our kindergarten families. Given that this year has presented our families with a variety of challenges, we wanted student registration to be as seamless as possible and we understood that beefing up our online registration options was key to accomplishing this.”

While the kindergarten registration website may be rebranded, the registration process and protocol remains untouched. Children must be five years-old on or before September 1 to register for kindergarten and are assigned to an attendance-area school based on the address of their residency.

In addition to registering students for kindergarten, the team plans on providing prospective parents with a “Day in the Life of a Kindergartener” overview and Magnet school and selective enrollment program presentations in lieu of a traditional Open House experience due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “Our marketing efforts will really be pronounced this year,” said Smith. “We want all of our kindergarten parents to feel that registration isn’t just a mundane process – it’s an experience that our team wants to cast for parents and further become engaged with their families and students.”
