Public Services Bureau Chief Edgar Cano and the City of Evanston provided the following weather information for the weekend and beyond:
Crews are currently on patrol cleaning up from last night’s event, battling blowing and drifting areas that continue to cover sidewalks and sections of road.
Saturday: Some sun early. 60% chance of light snow from 3pm to 9pm. Possible snow accumulation of 0.80 to 1.8 in. for Evanston. Low near 0 / High of 11.
Sunday into Monday: 40% chance of light snow from 11pm Sunday to 11am Monday. Up to 1 inch of accumulation possible. Low of -5 / High of 8.
Monday: 60% chance of light snow from 4pm to 3am Tuesday. Snow amounts between that time should be 1.5 to 2.5 inches. Low of 0 / High of 16.
Tuesday: 30% of light snow/ flurries from 3am to 11am. Additional trace to 0.25 in. of accumulation possible.
Staff is monitoring all forecasts and prepared to respond to weather events as needed. Updates will be posted as they are received.
Warming Shelter Available
The Levy Senior Center will be available as a warming shelter on Saturday and Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The City is also working with local organizations to provide transportation for homeless individuals to and from daytime and overnight warming shelters.

Safety Reminder: Stay Off Lakefront Shelf Ice
Please stay off of the shelf ice that builds up along the lakefront during the winter months. Walking on shelf ice is extremely dangerous for people and pets. Please stay on the sand.
