To celebrate Women’s History Month, Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre and Oakton Community College are creating a joint project, “The Women in Our Lives.”

Community members are invited to submit a 60-second video about any woman who has made an impact on their lives to fjtheatre@cityofevanston.org.

In inviting community members to participate, Fleetwood-Jourdain Theater Artistic Director Tim Rhoze said,

“Every day, from before we were born, we have been influenced by the women in our lives – from our teachers and doctors, to our clergy and business owners, our co-workers, Sorors, aunts, nieces, cousins, and grandmothers. Who can you add? What impact has a woman or someone who identifies as female, made on you? Of course, we all owe our birth Mothers the most gratitude above and beyond any others for giving us the gift of life; that being said is there someone else in your life who you would like to honor in the FJT Women’s History Month Video documenting short stories about The Women in Our Lives?

“Everyone, younger and older, video record on your phone, or whatever device will record video, your personal short story about a Woman who has made an incredible impact.”

Suggestions include using a neutral background with good quality and lighting. Submissions, which may not exceed 60 seconds, must be in .Mp4 or .mov format. Information in the submission must include the full name of the person submitting the video, a contact phone number and a confirmed email address. This information is critical but it will not be shared.

The deadline for submissions is midnight March 14.

The videos will be compiled into a documentary and broadcast on Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre’s YouTube channel at 7 p.m. on March 28.
