Friends of the Robert Crown Center last week transferred another $2.2 million to the City of Evanston, bringing the total to more than $9 million of its original $10 million commitment.
“Because of the generosity of our nearly 1,400 donors, Friends of the Robert Crown Center is happy to transfer another $2.2 million to the City of Evanston. Our donors have proven the naysayers wrong, and we look forward to both meeting our original $10 million commitment this year and continuing to raise toward our $15 million stretch goal,” said Daniel Stein, President of the Friends of the Robert Crown Center.
With this additional payment, FRCC will now have transferred $9.237 million to date to the City of Evanston, including the entire $6 million portion made on direct construction costs for the new Robert Crown Community Center (RCCC) and $3.237 million toward bond payments. All told, FRCC has raised $14.2 million in donations and commitments for the new Robert Crown Community Center. This amount includes $1.5 million from Governor JB Pritzker’s 2019 capital bill.
