Community Alert from the Police Department

The Evanston Police Department has amplified a community alert posted a few weeks ago about multiple incidents of indecent exposure in the area of Main Street and Chicago Avenue.

“There have been four additional incidents of a male subject exposing himself to women out walking,” according to the alert posted at in the afternoon of May 21. “The incidents have occurred primarily during the morning hours. The subject is described as an African American male in his 20s with a thin build.

“We are encouraging residents to be aware of their surroundings and to report any incidents to the police, using 911. Officers are continuing to deploy in the area, and detectives are investigating.”

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Evanston Police Department’s Investigations Bureau at 847-866-5040.
