Jevoid Simmons’ Book Release
“Up From Down Home: The Journey North” details the circumstances that forced Simmons’ family to flee the South in the early 1950s as part of the historic black migration. The book’s written narrative is supported by 17 original paintings by Mr. Simmons.
Baz Maui Art Machete Demo
Baz makes nature art with found natural fiber from trees on Maui. He has a very unique process of hand carving wood pieces using a machete and other hand tools before covering with the fiber from banana and palm trees. In Maui, Baz creates his art in the same space he sells, outside. Baz will be making art live, with a machete!
