Evanston Fight for Black Lives will host a book drive for incarcerated people from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 20 at Larimer Park, the corner of Ridge and Crain.
Before books are accepted, they must first be approved through the organization. The deadline for approval is June 18, and no hardcover books may be donated. For book approval, either message Evanston for Black Lives on their social media accounts or email: evanstonfight4blacklives@gmail.com.
Books in request are high school and middle school level educational fiction and non-fiction, financial literacy books, and books in Spanish and Polish. Other topics include books about substance abuse, mental health, chess, entrepreneurship, cooking, gardening, and the GED.
