City Hosts First Friday Event on July 2 as Part of the ‘My City, Your City, Our City’ Initiative

Evanston community members continue to enjoy a variety of free events and activities at parks and community centers throughout the summer as part of the City of Evanston’s new “My City, Your City, Our City” initiative.

The next event will be a Family Night at Mason Park, located at Church Street and Florence Avenue, on Friday, July 2 from 6 to 9 p.m. as a part of the First Friday series. Community members will enjoy an obstacle course, free food, outdoor games, and more.

Presented by the City’s Health and Human Services Department, Parks and Recreation Department, and local youth-serving organizations known as The Collective, My City, Your City, Our City provides safe, fun, and enriching summer activities geared towards young people 13 to 18 years old, as well as intergenerational activities for the whole family. The initiative includes free extended hours and programming at Evanston community centers, community-building events, and access to community information and resources.
