The Evanston Public Library heads to the great outdoors for more than 100 great events and activities this summer for kids, teens, and families.  Read the summer overview and take a look at some of these events happening soon:

  • Gather in the Garden: On Thursday mornings, come visit the Robert Crown Reading Garden and enjoy some fun outdoor activities for the whole family. Because of the presence of unvaccinated children, masks on all persons 2 & up are required, even at this outdoor venue. Registration is not required, but let the library know you’re coming here.
  • EPL On the Fly: Meet the library in the park this month. Register for a 30-Day Summer Reading Challenge, pick up a free book and a STEAM or Craft Kit to do in the park or at home.
  • Help Make a Collective Art Project. Join the library outside to add to an evolving art piece. Angela Lyonsmith, a local artist and director of Kids Create Change, invites makers of all ages to add to this tangible symbol of our mutual responsibility to each other. At summer’s end, the art piece will be installed at the Library. Stop by Tuesday, July 13, 2 to 4 p.m., Fleetwood-Jourdain; Thursday, July 15, 4 to 6 p.m., Twiggs Park; and Wednesday, July 21, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Mason Park.
