ComEd is working to restore power to approximately 6,000 Evanston customers after severe storms knocked down power lines, trees and branches at locations throughout the City late Aug. 10.

City of Evanston Forestry crews and the Evanston Fire Department responded to multiple reports of downed trees and coordinated with ComEd to address these issues and clear streets overnight. City of Evanston Public Works staff, including Traffic and Streets Divisions, also responded to reports of malfunctioning street lights and traffic signals, as well as areas of street flooding and potential sewer issues.

Report/track power outages

Community members can report and track the status of power outages using ComEd’s Outage Map at www.comed.com/Outages/ReportAnOutage or by calling 1-800-EDISON-1.

If you see downed power lines, leave the area immediately and then call ComEd. Representatives are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Report downed trees, branches and non-emergency issues

Downed trees and limbs, traffic signal issues, street flooding and other non-emergency issues can be reported to Evanston 311 online at www.cityofevanston.org/311 or by calling/texting 847-448-4311. Evanston 311 will open on Wednesday, Aug. 11 at 6 a.m.
