“See My Story” will run Sept. 2 through Sept. 26 at the Perspective Group and Photography Gallery, 1310 1/2 Chicago Ave.
The exhibit is a collaborative, photography-based multimedia project designed to raise awareness about homelessness in Evanston. It combines large-scale portraits of homeless individuals alongside their personal stories while inviting guests to learn from the stories of each participant and inspire current homeless individuals with a greater sense of self-esteem and equality.
“See My Story” received grants from the Evanston Arts Council and the Evanston Community Foundation. Connections for the Homeless and Interfaith Action of Evanston are community partners.
The opening reception will be held on Sept. 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. and an in-person discussion with the “See My Story” team will be held on Sept. 23 at 7 p.m.
