The City of Evanston will host a virtual community meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9 to discuss plans for a new animal shelter.
The City of Evanston, the Evanston Animal Shelter Association and Cook County have formed a partnership to expand the capacity of the animal shelter at 2310 Oakton St.
Community members can join the virtual meeting online via Zoom or by dialing in by phone.

At the meeting, Holabird & Root architects will present the firm’s assessment of the existing building issues and the needs of the proposed animal shelter. The Climate Action and Resilience Plan, the City’s sustainability goals related to facilities and the functions to be included in the project will also be discussed. Community members will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback.
