The Evanston Police Department reported that at 10:27 p.m. Saturday night, Sept. 4, officers responded to multiple 911 calls of a person shot inside a residence in the 1700 block of Dodge Avenue. Police responded along with the Evanston Fire Department. The victim, a male subject in his early 20s, died from gunshot wounds.
Police Commander Ryan Glew reported that an investigation revealed multiple offenders fled the scene. He says that the investigation has led to a related scene at the Skokie Swift Station, where there are no reported injuries or further shots fired.
Glew said the police are searching for offenders, but that the incident does not appear to be a random act. Glew reported that the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force NORTAF Major Crimes Task Force was assisting the Evanston Police Department.

9/17 10 am: I was just driving past Main Street going south on Dodge and saw a large police presence. A young black man was on a stretcher being put into an ambulance. His eyes seemed to be covered with what looked like grey sleeping shades and he was still. There was one green car at the scene surrounded by at least 3 police cars. There was no other private car and no signs of damage to the green car. What happened here? Please report this. I am concerned. Thanks.
