The Evanston Fire and Police Departments will hold a memorial ceremony to honor the brave men and women who lost their lives 20 years ago on Sept. 11, 2001.
The memorial service will be held from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 11 at Firemen’s Park, at the corner of Simpson Street and Maple Avenue.
This year’s program will include presentations from Mayor Daniel Biss, Fire Chief Paul Polep, interim Police Chief Aretha Barnes, Fire Chaplain Monte Dillard and others.
This will be a socially distanced event. Due to estimated attendance, there will be limited space. Face coverings will be required and provided if needed.
