The Evanston Arts Council is seeking nominations for its annual Mayor’s Awards for the Arts, which recognize and honor artists or arts organizations who have made significant contributions to the arts in Evanston.

To nominate an Evanston artist or arts organization, community members should submit the artist or organization’s name and up to 500 words on why they are deserving of the award to artscouncil@cityofevanston.org by Thursday, October 7 at noon.

Artists and arts organizations will be recognized by Mayor Daniel Biss during the Bright Night for the Arts event, scheduled to be held on Thursday, November 4, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Evanston Art Center.

A Bright Night for the Arts is a celebration of the arts in Evanston. This event is fun, free and open to the whole community.  All are welcome, so please save the date. More information to come.

For more information, please call/text 847-448-4311. For convenience, residents may simply dial 3-1-1 in Evanston.
