The mood was joyful Friday as crowds of students, alumni and community members flowed into Memorial Stadium Sept. 24 to celebrate Evanston Township High School’s Homecoming 2021.

A balmy evening on the first Friday of the fall season felt like an invitation to cheer on the Wildkits and enjoy halftime performances that kept fans on their feet in the stands.

Since COVID-19 remains a serious concern, many of those who attended kept their masks on, and concession stands were not open for popular game-time treats such as hot dogs and popcorn.

ETHS led the game from start to finish, defeating archrival New Trier 38-24.

ETHS seniors Carlos Roach and Maya Wallace were crowned homecoming royalty during the halftime show.

The homecoming court, nominated by the senior class, also included Aniyah Miller, Carl Stegen, Darryl Jones, Nicholas Bradley, Alexis McGhee, Bennett Pascal, Nia Ridge and Cydney O’Neal.
