Evanston Police responded to a 911 call of one person shot and another person stabbed in the 2000 block of Wesley Avenue on Sept. 26. When officers arrived, they located one subject who had suffered a gun shot wound and a separate subject who had suffered stab wounds.

The investigation indicates that the shooting and stabbing are related incidents.

Both subjects were transported to an area hospital by the Evanston Fire Department. The gunshot victim, a 45-year-old male resident of Naperville, has succumbed to his injuries and died. The stabbing victim, a 27-year-old male resident of Chicago, is presently in stable condition.

The Evanston Police Detective Bureau and North Regional Major Crimes Task Force are investigating. This does not appear to be a random act, and no suspects are presently in custody.

If you believe you may have information about this investigation and/or the offenders please contact the Evanston Police Detective Bureau at 847-866-5040 or Text-A-Tip to CRIMES (274637) and then start your message with EPDTIP.
