Beginning within the next two weeks, the City will be contracting alley improvements at multiple locations throughout Evanston.
This project is anticipated to take place over the next three months and consists of improvements to three alleys, a repair to the Morton Civic Center parking lot, and the installation of traffic calming speed bumps on various streets and alleys.

|Alley, North of Brummel St. & East of Ridge Ave.||Concrete alley paving|
|Morton Civic Center parking Lot||Porous concrete replacement|

Work at each location is expected to last approximately five to six weeks. Vehicular access through the alley under construction, as well as access to garages and parking areas, will be prohibited once work begins. During this time, residents will be required to use street parking. Refuse and recycling collection will occur on the street side of each property while alleys are closed. The exact date construction activities are scheduled to begin will be noted on barricades at the entrances to the alleys or on “No Parking” signs adjacent to the work areas. Additionally, resident newsletters will be distributed to all affected residents.
