Beginning within the next two weeks, the City will be contracting alley improvements at multiple locations throughout Evanston.
This project is anticipated to take place over the next three months and consists of improvements to three alleys, a repair to the Morton Civic Center parking lot, and the installation of traffic calming speed bumps on various streets and alleys.
Project Locations:
Location | Scope |
Alley, North of Noyes St. & East of Dodge Ave. | Concrete alley paving |
Alley, North of Nathaniel St. & East of McDaniel Ave. | Concrete alley paving |
Alley, North of Brummel St. & East of Ridge Ave. | Concrete alley paving |
Morton Civic Center parking Lot | Porous concrete replacement |
Various locations | Street humps and alley bumps |
Work at each location is expected to last approximately five to six weeks. During this time, residents will be required to use street parking. Refuse and recycling collection will occur on the street side of each property while alleys are closed. Additionally, resident newsletters will be distributed to all affected residents.
