ESCCA’S annual Pumpkin Patch sale fundraiser will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9 at Independence Park, located at the corner of Central Street and Stewart Avenue. There will be hundreds of pumpkins to choose from at prices competitive with grocery stores and farmers’ markets. Balloons, face painting and refreshments will also be available.
ESCCA, which stands for Evanston School Children’s Clothing Association, is a not-for-profit organization that has been around since the Great Depression and provides clothing for District 65 kindergarten through 8th grade children in need. Approximately 600 children are provided with complete wardrobes, coats and boots every year.
All pumpkins are donated by Coldwell Banker and all proceeds go directly to the purchase of new jeans, shoes and underwear for the children. ESCCA is an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff. Donations of any type, clothing or monetary, are always welcome and appreciated. For more information contact ESCCA at escca.org.
