Evanston’s Mudlark Theater will live-stream Larkabout, its annual fundraiser, on Saturday, Oct. 23.
Now in its seventh year, Larkabout is an event filled with joy and celebration of Mudlark’s work for the past 16 years. Due to the pandemic, Larkabout 2021 will be presented online with a small live studio audience, offering a night of performances and laughter.
Mudlark will continue the tradition of doubling both as a benefit and a show with exciting theater performances by the talented young people Mudlark serves.
The benefit provides crucial support for the youth theater’s work in the community, raising more than $275,000 over the past few years.
“We are excited to celebrate the creativity of the youth we serve and Mudlark’s resiliency, Executive Director Maureen Powers said in a news release. “With the support of our community, Mudlark will serve more young people, offer a wider range of programs and strengthen Mudlark’s role as a catalyst for bold ideas, new friendships and self-discovery.”
After taking an extraordinary financial hit from the pandemic, Mudlark is seeking to rebuild, restore and recover. For more information about Mudlark Theater, visit www.mudlarktheater.org. For more information about Larkabout, go to www.mudlarktheater.org/larkabout.
