Downed power cables close Main Street between Dodge and Pitner

Main Street is currently closed to traffic between Pitner and Dodge Avenues in Evanston due to downed power lines.

ComEd crews are on the scene working to address the issue, which resulted from a truck coming into contact with overhead cables at Pitner Alley. The road closure is expected to remain in effect into the overnight hours due to the extent of the required repairs.

Drivers can continue to access the Main Street shopping plaza located east of McCormick Boulevard, but through traffic on Main Street is not permitted at this time. Drivers should use alternate routes.
