Dear reader,

The Evanston RoundTable has its roots in the printed newspaper that we once delivered twice a month to your doorstep. These days, everything we do is digital – the result of tectonic changes in the local news business that put the print edition to bed in the fall of 2019.

But we’re still delivering the headlines, with the free electronic newsletter that we distribute every weekday, along with a weekend wrap-up on Sunday. This year alone, we’ve delivered more than 200 editions. The newsletter offers a convenient way for Evanstonians to learn about what’s going on in our city, in our schools and among our neighbors.

The newsletter is one of the RoundTable’s most important projects, and it is written by staff reporters Adina Keeling and Duncan Agnew.

Watch the brief video at the top of this post to learn more about how it comes together every day.

If you agree that news is critical to our city’s civic health, please support our work, and join the many Evanstonians who wish to continue the tradition of robust local journalism.

Make your donation go even further in November and December by participating in NewsMatch, a nationwide movement to sustain journalism through matching gifts on the local and national level.

Here’s how it works.

Through December 31— your donation to the RoundTable will be doubled through NewsMatch and commitments from local partners. With your help, we will match every dollar donated through the end of December.
