Perspective Gallery is proud to present “The Wanderers” by fine art photographer Christopher Schneberger. This new series of semi-narrative tableaus imagines a band of young explorers traversing the land. The young women in the series portray both the fantasy of imagined childhood expeditions and illustrate the idea of getting lost and finding one’s way.

Christopher Schneberger is a Chicago photographer whose work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. Exhibitions include: The Los Angeles Center for Digital Art and the Annenberg Space for Photography, both in Los Angeles; Dorsky Projects in New York City, Geocarto International in Hong Kong, and Blank Wall Gallery in Athens, Greece. His work is in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Taubman Museum of Art in Roanoke, Virginia, the Mary and Leigh Block Museum in Evanston, Illinois, and the Flanders Gallery in Raleigh, North Carolina. He is two-time recipient of an Illinois Arts Council individual artist grant. He is currently Assistant Professor of photography at Vincennes University where he is also Director of the Shircliff Gallery. Previously he was adjunct faculty at The School of the Art Institute, Columbia College Chicago, and the College of DuPage. He is a co-founder and former Board President of Perspective Gallery where he continues his involvement. He has curated numerous exhibitions of photography and has been a visiting artist at numerous colleges including Iowa State University, Indiana University, Kendall College of Art and Western Michigan University. He holds a BFA from the University of Florida and an MFA from Indiana University.

The exhibition will take place from December 2, 2021 – January 3, 2022 at Perspective Gallery, 1310-1/2B Chicago Avenue. The Gallery will host an opening reception on Saturday, December 4 from 6-7:30 p.m. and a discussion with the artist will be Thursday, December 16 at 7 p.m..

Founded in 2010, Perspective Group and Photography Gallery is a not-for-profit, community-oriented cooperative whose purpose is to promote fine art photography. In addition to monthly group and featured artists exhibitions, the gallery features a guest speaker lecture series, monthly artist talks, an annual national juried exhibition, an annual invitational show, an annual Vicinity exhibition, and an annual juried show for Chicago-area high school students.
