Dear Reader,
Why have so many Evanstonians decided to become supporters of the RoundTable during our fall NewsMatch campaign? It’s Giving Tuesday – so let’s ask a few of them.
Elisa Spain: We joined NewsMatch this year, and contribute to the RoundTable this year and every year because the RoundTable is essential to Evanston. I remember the brief period between the time the print publication ended and the newsletter began, we felt the loss. It is essential that we support the RoundTable so that it continues to be there for us.
Janet Alexander Davis: For many years there was a news source I felt didn’t care much about me as an African American citizen. When the Evanston Roundtable started out covering every day news with a family feeling to the stories, I started to tune into what you covered. You seemed to care about the everyday man and woman and especially, I saw more of me in the stories you published.
Charles Pratt: Vigorous local journalism is a critical component of civic life.
Carol Nielsen: I rely on the Evanston RoundTable because they have a history of fair and honest reporting. Though we all miss the delivery of the paper, the online paper continues to keep us well informed.
We have exciting plans and ambitious goals for 2022 – but we need your help! On this Giving Tuesday, we hope you’ll decide to support the Evanston RoundTable, and join the many Evanstonians who wish to continue the tradition of robust local journalism.
When you give today, your donation to the RoundTable will be matched by national and local partners.
With gratitude,
The RoundTable team
