On Saturday, December 4, Downtown Evanston will kick-off the holiday season with the annual Holiday Light Celebration at Fountain Square. Bring family, friends and coworkers together to spend a joyous evening together in downtown Evanston.
Make your way to Fountain Square at 4:45 p.m. to enjoy a performance by the Evanston Children’s Choir at 5 p.m. and then welcome Mayor Daniel Biss and Santa as they arrive at Fountain Square. At 5:30 p.m. help Mayor Biss flip the switch and light up the tree. After the tree lighting, enjoy music by Northwestern Purple Haze Acapella, and performances by special holiday guests from the Actor’s Gymnasium. From 6 to 7:30 p.m. Santa will be available for photos in front of the holiday tree.
Colectivo Coffee will provide free hot cocoa and Potbelly’s is offering cookies while supplies last. And don’t forget to grab dinner to go from a local restaurant!
Thank you to Valli Produce, Fulton Grace and Altomere Insurance Agency for sponsoring the Holiday Light Celebration.
Since I am a resident at Albany Care in Evanston is see which employees care for the residents or just care for a paycheck. Albany Care is losing the few quality employees they have because the administration not only does not treat the residents with any respect but they don’t treat fellow workers with respect as well and even to their face. It is sad to see from the inside that this establishment has been on a downward slide for the last few years, and has no plan to remedy it. Today I was in line to receive my morning medication and not only was it 4 hours late but I didn’t get the proper medication because Albany Care is utilizing temporary employees. I am lucky I pay attention to these things but other residents are not as lucky. It is only a matter of time before something tragic happens.
