As a part of the city’s Accessibility is Freedom: ADA Transition Plan Update, community members are encouraged to share their visions for a more accessible Evanston by completing an online survey available through Saturday, Dec. 18.
The Accessibility is Freedom: ADA Transition Plan Update will create a blueprint for Evanston to enhance accessibility throughout its parks, municipal facilities, sidewalks and intersections, programs and services well into the next decade. The process will ensure everyone in the community – no matter their ability – can fully navigate Evanston’s public spaces and activities.
The survey can be found at evanstonaccessibility.com. Survey responses will help the city identify accessibility gaps, its most used facilities and parks, and ways to enhance accessibility for all.
The project website also features materials from the most recent community workshop held at the Levy Senior Center on Nov. 18. Visitors can click accompanying audio clips to help walk them through the materials in both English and Spanish.
