Evanston Police and the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force have arrested a 19-year-old Chicago man in connection with a fatal shooting at the intersection of Green Bay Road and Foster Street.
Five people, all between the ages of 14 and 18, were wounded in the Nov. 28 incident. One victim, Carl Dennison III, a 17-year-old resident of Skokie, died at the scene. The remaining four victims were transported to local hospitals.
Evanston Police said that during the investigation into the shooting the suspect made statements to investigators admitting his involvement, stating that he acted as the driver of the vehicle used in the shooting.
The suspect was charged Dec. 9 with one count of first-degree murder and four counts of attempted first-degree murder, police said. He appeared in bond court Friday, Dec. 10 and is being held without bond, with his next scheduled court appearance Dec. 28 at the Cook County courthouse in Skokie, police said.
Two shooting victims, a 14-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy, remain hospitalized, police said.
