Evanston Fire Department vehicles were dispatched to 1242 Asbury Ave. shortly after 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 22, due to “a working fire with flames showing from the roof,” according to a witness.

Fire officials determined the source of the flames was overheated electrical equipment in the house’s chimney, the witness said.

No injuries have been reported at this time. The RoundTable will update this post with more information from the Fire Department as it becomes available.
