Mohamed M. Abdelfattah plays the Turkish flute, or ney, in downtown Evanston. Abdelfattah says he is homeless. “The last seven days I’ve been sleeping outside.” He brings his flute with him but it is hard to play in the cold. He is seeking a job as a blacksmith or metal worker. (Photo by Richard Cahan)
