Here’s the scoop. Unsightly newsracks: gone. The Evanston City Council voted this week to get rid of the 15 city-owned publication dispensers like this one under the Davis Street Metra Station. The city provided the metal boxes starting in 2014 to help declutter sidewalks. At the time, 36 publications were sold or given away at nearly 300 locations.
