“This day is the beginning. This is just a start. Most people think this is reparations for all of what has happened, but this is just for housing reparations for the city of Evanston. It’s a good start.

“It’s a very historic day because there is now some ownership and an admission of guilt. We see the guilt if you study history, but there’s never an admission of guilt. This repair is an admission of guilt.”
