As a part of the search for a new Ninth Ward City Council member, a candidate forum will be held in-person and virtually at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17 to provide the public with an opportunity to hear from all candidates who applied for the position.
The forum will be held in the City Council chambers on the second floor of the Morton Civic Center. Community members may attend this event in person or via Zoom. The forum will also be live-streamed and recorded on the city’s YouTube channel and on Channel 16.
During the forum, candidates will be interviewed by Mayor Daniel Biss. Interested residents may submit questions and/or comments in advance.
Applications for those interested in representing the Ninth Ward will remain open through Monday, Feb. 14.
Under state law, the candidate appointed by the mayor and approved by City Council to fill this vacancy will serve until the municipal election in 2023.
