The League of Women Voters of Evanston will host a Zoom event at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, to educate the community about the Evanston Environment Board.
Wendy Pollock and Cherie LeBlanc Fischer, Co-chairs of the Evanston Environment Board, will talk about what interested them about serving on a city board or commission, how they were appointed and what they like about the work, as well as who sets the agenda, the board’s key issues and challenges and the role the board is playing in the implementation of the city’s Climate Action and Resilience Plan.
The Evanston Environment Board is an 11-member board charged with supporting Evanston’s environmental goals of reducing and mitigating climate change impacts, increasing resource efficiency and protecting and restoring natural systems by investigating issues and developing recommendations for City Council, other boards, committees and commissions and city departments to meet Evanston’s goals.
