Evanston resident Barbara Belcore uses the community fridge and food pantry at 1335 Dodge Ave. She brought cans of fruit and vegetables to donate and took gluten-free pasta and a corn tortilla. Evanston has four free pantries – with refrigerators for perishable goods and shelves for non-perishables. “You can bring food here and know that somebody else is going to make good use of it,” she said. And you can supplement your kitchen. “There is no judgment, which is great. Nobody is going to judge you for popping by.” (Photo by Richard Cahan)
