Ready for the weekend holidays. Evanston-based Meals on Wheels is preparing food for Passover (lamb roast with caramelized onions) and Easter (honey-glazed spiral ham). The organization, located at 1723 Simpson St., makes and delivers more than 200 fresh meals six days a week all year to people at home. “These holiday meals are special,” said Sam Landman, food service director. “These are foods that I’ve made for my family.” At the Simpson Street kitchen are (from left) line cook Gaspar Santos, utility man Woody Sanders, volunteer Kate Julian, Landman, and volunteers Janet Butterfield, Kathryn Bauer, Dee Kang and Josue Idani.
