Friends of Lovelace Park (www.LovelacePark.com) is urging everyone who uses our parks for art projects, parties and more to please not bring shiny metallic foil confetti but use paper confetti instead.
I know the foil confetti are glistening and sparkly, but they do not degrade like paper confetti.
Last year, there were hundreds if not thousands of confetti bits in the grass around a tree just west of the shelter at Lovelace Park – see the picture above. And you can still see many now, even after the winter, as metallic foil just doesn’t degrade.
