What in the world is going on that the District 65 Superintendent and school board are not responding to this problem? Nor to the District 65 community?
The community elected the board, and the board hired Superintendent Devon Horton.
They are not just figureheads. They have an obligation to respond to these complaints and to provide the leadership to effectively address and resolve these problems.

Horton left the room when a Haven teacher who had been hospitalized, was speaking at the Board meeting
I read a great deal about how the leadership has handled the situations at Haven Middle school, but nothing about dealing with the real cause of the current violence between students/teachers/ and staff. The pandemic has uncovered multiple issues with the access and treatment for mental health issues among teens and of course has clearly increased the need. I hope that the administration of Haven and Dist 65 provide the resources needed to help the kids and adults who are struggling at all the schools. This is a community issue, not just a school issue. Mental health providers must be involved in any solution to help make our schools and community safer.
