Evanston’s girls tracked down five wins Saturday and earned a fifth place finish overall at the rain-plagued Palatine Relays invitational meet.

The Wildkits scored 38 points in their final competitive tuneup before hosting the Central Suburban League South division meet on Thursday.

The Kits, already the fastest team in the state in the 1600-meter relay, lowered their time to 3 minutes, 56.77 seconds Saturday behind the foursome of Abrielle Artley, Dystonae Clark, Kai Strickland and Maidison Hardamon.

Artley ran away with the 100 hurdle title in 15.76 and Hardamon was the only 400 runner to break one minute with a winning performance of 59.40.

Also scoring individual wins for ETHS were Jasmine Wright, 13.11 in the open 100 coming out of a slow heat and Jacklynn Okereke, 25.29 in the open 200. Okereke added a second place finish in the 100 in 13.23; Lauren Dain earned runner-up honors in the 3200 in 11:37.74; and Olivia Whatley placed second in the shot put at 11.94 meters, or 39 feet, 2 inches.
