Downtown Evanston is excited to host the second summer of Thursday Night Markets, an outdoor market featuring local shops, artists and makers. All are invited to spend an evening in downtown, shopping direct from local businesses, enjoying tunes by DJ Johnny Price and cold beer from Smylie Brothers Brewing Co. Grab dinner to go from a nearby restaurant to dine outside at Fountain Square.
The markets take place from 4 to 8 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month: June 2, July 7, Aug. 4 and Sept. 1. Vendors will set up on Sherman Avenue, which will be closed from Davis Street to the south end of the plaza. Downtown Evanston will have big games and other activities for families at the plaza across Davis Street. The market will feature 30-plus vendors offering jewelry, apparel, baked goods, paintings, beauty products, books, prints and more. For a list of vendors visit downtownevanston.org/nightmarket.
“Based on the success of the markets last summer, we are thrilled to continue to provide local businesses and artists a fun opportunity to sell their products and to invite Evanston residents and visitors to experience a lively evening in downtown,” says Downtown Evanston Executive Director Annie Coakley.
Thursday Night Markets are sponsored by Byline Bank, Altomere & Associates Agency and First Northern Credit Union. Parking is available at the Sherman Avenue garage with entrances on Davis Street and Benson Avenue and street parking in and around downtown.
