This weekend, Evanstonians paid tribute to the soldiers who died while serving their country. Small American flags decorated sidewalks and more than 150 people attended a memorial service at Fountain Square.

Evanston Bicycle Club member Joanne Davis, Lieutenant Colonel, Retired, US Army Reserve, led a group of approximately 25 club members on a ride to the Fort Sheridan Military Cemetery Sunday. The group commemorated the memorial holiday and honored the armed service members who are buried there with readings of war-related poetry, a minute of silence and the playing of Taps.
