The joy of summer begins here. Rising first grader Nolan Malone rides the zip line at Lincoln Elementary School moments after school ended for the year. He was given a push by classmate and friend Yul Sohn at the school playground, on Judson Avenue near Main Street. What does summer mean to Nolan’s mother? “Sun and beach and no school lunches,” said Pat Malone. And what does she think summer means to Nolan? “Running around. Playing with his friends. It’s a continuation of his fun life.” (Photo by Richard Cahan)
